Countdown to SES: 3 Days Left!

SES is rapidly approaching and I can hardly wait for it to arrive. I hope to make SES a yearly event for Jay and I… unless, of course, Jay’s trade show bias ends up being right and it’s not worth much. That would not be very good, but I personally don’t think a show that charges over $1000 per ticket could survive as long as it has if it wasn’t worthwhile attending.

In today’s post, I’m going to talk about the sessions on day number 2 (other than Seth Godin’s keynote address, which everyone will be attending… obviously) that I want to attend and why:

What’s Your Purple Cow Quotient? Differentiation and Positioning Workshop - 10:15 - 11:45

This session, lead by Rand Fishkin, is all about how to set yourself apart from all the competition in your marketing and business efforts. This session interests me because I think it will not only be useful for online business, but might just give me some ideas for promoting my day job.

1:00 - 2:15 PM - I Don’t Know!

I’m torn between two of the sessions during this time. However, I don’t feel very strong about either of them, so I’ll likely see what Jay decides to attend and then attend a different session so that we can get more coverage and compare notes. (Knowing my luck, he’ll want to go to the session that doesn’t interest me at all… leaving me with the same dilemma!)

Linking Campaigns and Beyond: Getting Authoritative Online Mentions - 2:45 - 4:00 PM

This session is all about how linking campaigns need to be run in 2007, since the traditional methods are not always the best method to use today. This session is almost a must attend in my opinion. I will probably head over early just in case everyone else is thinking the same as me. :)

Get Dugg! Social Media and WOM Targeting Tips - 4:30 - 5:45

This session is all about how to promote yourself through social media and word of mouth, which is something I’m very interested in doing with my sites more and more this year. I’m hoping this session gives me some bankable ideas I can use after coming home from SES.

That pretty much winds up SES, so expect a lot of reports on the sessions and other coverage when I get back from the show. Hopefully, Jay will contribute some posts of his own.

Good Profits.
