I was reading this article on GameDaily.com the other day. Basically for this fiscal year, each of Nintendo’s 3400 employees generated over $2.5 million in revenue for the company, blowing away the other giant corporate giants (Microsoft: $628 thousand per employee, Google: $994 thousand per employee) and leading Fortune to declare that the Wii has won.

While 5 months may be a little early to declare of victory for anyone in this generation of the console wars, Nintendo has certainly become one of the most successful corporations of the day. What lessons can be learned from these numbers by us humble Internet publishers who’d be happy to generate a few thousand bucks a month on our sites?

When you work for the man, you limit yourself. Every hour you put in at the office or whereever you work, you’re making money for someone else. Your time is more valuable than you are compensated for it… it’s the very basis of capitalism. Who would you rather be? The man at the top, making money off of the work of others… or the guy working for the man?

Shout Out: Thanks to Jay, webmaster of this John Cena fansite and occasional guest blogger here for the idea behind this post. :)
