Writing For Search Engines

One crazy idea I’ve been bouncing around is writing articles geared specifically to long tail search terms, as opposed to just whatever pops into mind one day. Ideally, as our blog continues to build links, we should have a better and better chance of ranking for these low, competitive terms - then ideally we could see my articles bringing in targeted traffic.

How do I plan on doing it? Well, the web is full of free keyword software like Good Keywords which essentially just use overture to bring in a rough estimate of traffic for a particular term. So, we take a tool like this and whenever an idea for a post strikes me, I will do a comprehensive search and see what keywords come up and if they are exploitable.

Going in, I expect this tactic to be a little more difficult than I’m guessing, however I also expect to come up with additional post ideas for the phrases popping up. Over the next few months, I’ll keep you all updated.
