Google has officially okay’d other contextual ad based services on the same page as your Adsense. I have to say, I’m shocked by this…but it comes from a reliable source (JenSense: the Queen of Contextual Marketing)

She tells us of her conversation with Brian Axe, a senior product manager at Adsense. His direct words were:

“When it comes to enforcing policies on third-party contextual ads, we’ll be following the updated program policies instead of the T&Cs on this point. That is to say, publishers may now display other contextual ads on the same site or page as Google ads as long as they don’t have the same look and feel as our ads,”

I have to wonder if YPN will follow suit, I almost think they would have to…otherwise I could see many publishers (especially bigger ones favoring Adsense solely for the fact that they could display say Intellitext along with Adsense at the same time)

This is huge news, I posted about the speculation of this change the other day (here). I honestly put 0 stock in those rumors and I’m quite shocked at this turn of events. While I’m sure there are many other reasons they have made this change, it does feel like Google it’s publishers a little more consideration and that is definitely a good thing.
