Yesterday’s work day (which was quite productive, enough so that we rewarded ourselves with a little Gears of War after 5 ) was my turn to build links. I’ve found that in our particular niche (something that we will be revealing in the near future…mainly because over the past few months it’s gone from extremely lucrative and a secret that needs to be protected, to just your average earning niche, that’s more effort than it’s worth…at least we think so sometimes ) is very easy to get links, if you have a very nice design. The site I was link building for just had a top notch design put together by the designer that works for my other company and I have had an extremely high response rate so far.
It hasn’t been 24 hours yet and of the 100 link requests I’ve sent out (50 directly related to my site, and 50 some what related ) I have gotten 19 responses, and 9 links setup already ( 7 directly related, 2 somewhat related )
That’s a 19% response rate, in less than 24 hours. I’m looking forward to seeing what our response rate will be over the week.
I know link exchanges are kind of “old school” type SEO, and many people don’t think they are even effective anymore. However, that’s how all the other sites in our niche have achieved their rankings, so it’s enough to get love from the big G, we’ve had some success already.
