We had two domains coming up for renewal in the next two weeks, and they were some marginal sites that weren’t really making us any money. We decided to keep one domain as it has a lot of potential and let the other one expire. Then I had a flash of brilliance and decided to see if anyone was interested in the domain or it’s modest earnings.
That was yesterday, and as of 10 minutes ago I sold it for $200. Money in hand.
Where am I going with this? Business is all about being creative, and seeing the potential for value to someone else even if no value exists to you. For us, it wasn’t realistic to spend the time it would require to develop the site into something worthwhile to keep, but one man’s trash is another man’s gold. So I’m glad we were able to find someone to pick up the property that no longer interested us and I wish them great success with it.
