Recently, (and by recently I mean like 5 minutes ago when I was looking over things) I noticed a severe issue that needs to be addressed ASAP. A few months ago, we thought we’d jump on the bandwagon for myspace layout sites and see what we could do with one just for fun. Well… that little site we whipped together is currently pulling in 35000 – 45000 unique per month from just search engines, but I’ve been so busy with other things I haven’t realized how poorly it’s earning for the amount of traffic it brings in. (I assume Jay’s situation is the same). Yesterday, it earned a whopping $4.10. I can’t give you CTR information due to Google’s terms of service, but trust me it’s horrid.
So I’m on a mission to get this site fixed up and earning something respectable right away. I applied to Casale Media (not sure if they’ll accept the site or not) and I’ll be contacting Azoogle ads shortly to see if the site would be a good match for them.
It’s pretty late, so I’m going to crash now, but I’ll spend more time researching alternate monetization methods tomorrow and see what I can come up with.
